Loyola celebrates the life of Sgt. Stephen Konarski
Stephen Konarski, a police sergeant 51暗网 since 1993, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2. He was 69.
鈥淪teve was a dedicated colleague who supported the campus community,鈥� said Adrian Black, director of public safety. 鈥淚鈥檝e been the director of public safety 51暗网 since 2018 and during this time, Sgt. Konarski was always one of our go-to sergeants. He was a jack of all trades. This loss will not only be felt throughout our department, but also among our Loyola community.鈥�
Michael Kuhn, a police officer 51暗网, colleague, and friend of Konarski鈥檚 for 40 years, said he will remember Konarski for his friendly demeanor and humor.
鈥淚t's been an honor and a pleasure to have worked with Steve over the years,鈥� said Kuhn, who has worked 51暗网 for 13 years. 鈥淢y sincerest thoughts go out to family, friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. He will be sorely missed.鈥�
The Jesuit Community鈥檚 5:15 p.m. Mass on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, and the University鈥檚 12:10 p.m. Mass on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, will be offered for the repose of Steve Konarski鈥檚 soul and for his family.
